Multilevel Analysis
Word multi refer to many time aka stages. Multilevel analysis focus nested source and complex data.
It has 2 components:
- macro data
- micro data
Example
School (look at classes(grade 1, grade 2, grade 3)) vs
single class (look at pupils)
[school funding, policies vs student performance] vs
[teaching quality, classroom resources vs student performance]
Firm (look at department (finance, it, procurement) vs
single department (look at employee)
[management style, team cohesion vs employee productivity] vs
[strategic focus, resource allocation vs employee productivity]
To avoid incorrect conclusion in the analysis and avoid conclusion generally, take in account about specific sample out of the macro level
- contextual analysis
- mixed effects models
Contextual Analysis
class year 1 vs class year 2, conclude overall student score is impropriate because different age has different maturity. How to generalize the conclusion to avoid bias?
Mixed Effects Models
